INTEGRIS Gala Proceeds to Benefit Statewide Stroke Initiatives

Rolling Stones Tribute Band ‘Satisfaction’ Headlines 15th Annual INTEGRIS Gala

The INTEGRIS Foundation hosts more than 600 guests at the 2013 INTEGRIS Gala on Friday, April 12, at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The 15th annual event features live entertainment by musical guest Satisfaction – a musical tribute to the Rolling Stones. The event raised $460,250 benefiting statewide stroke programs.

“For well over a decade the INTEGRIS Gala has bolstered patient care, community outreach and strengthened life-saving programs at INTEGRIS,” said INTEGRIS Foundation Executive Director Brad Walker. “From supporting continuing education for metro nurses, to bolstering mental health and mind, body spirit initiatives – we’ve invested nearly $2 million back into the people and communities we serve – supporting the mission of INTEGRIS Health.”

Funding generated by the event will add telestroke equipment at seven new rural locations throughout the state – Chickasha, Duncan, Durant, Enid, Lawton, Pryor and Stillwater – will provide critical funding for clinician education, new state-of-the-art clinic equipment including an apnea monitoring device, and a first-ever stroke camp benefiting both patients and their families.

This signature event promises an evening of cocktails, conversation, fine dining and even a little dancing, but it is the life-changing programs benefiting from the event that attract attendees from across the state. Event proceeds will provide critical funding for education and resources needed to prevent, rapidly recognize and treat patients suffering from acute ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke at the James R. Daniel Stroke Centers at INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center and INTEGRIS Southwest Medical Center.

Senator Tom Coburn serves as the honorary chairman for this signature event alongside co-chairs Lawrence Davis, M.D., and Charles Morgan, M.D., medical directors of the INTEGRIS James R. Daniel Stroke Centers of Oklahoma. Two of Oklahoma City’s well-respected community leaders, James Daniel and Jeanne Morgan, also serve as co-chairs.

Signature event sponsors include Robins & Morton, Dr. Charles and Jeanne Morgan, Dr. Lawrence and Judith Davis, ProCure Proton Therapy Center, PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., and many more.

The critical moments after a stroke are when life-changing medicine makes a difference. For every 12 minutes stoke treatment is delayed, a pea-sized piece of brain dies. For more information and resources on stroke care and prevention, visit the INTEGRIS James R. Daniel Stroke Center website at
